love lives in my house...

Verse 1:
These walls have heard a lot of screaming
These doors have slammed with vengeance
The hinges wearing out
Words have hit this ceiling
That have sliced and bit me deep
Tears have dripped onto this floor
Dust and bits of heart as well
Wretched faces stood in doorways
While the purest devotion over flowed

Chorus:
Oh love
Oh love
It lives in our sink
Oh joy
Oh life
They glide up our stairs
Oh unity
Oh worldly perfection
The closest it can get
We live in this house
Love lives in this house

Verse 2:
Broken hearts under the tree
Where children and puppies played
The red stone square that held my dreams
But unveiled big girl realities
A war zone of soft and caring arms
My greatest ache and question mark
The laugher and singing shattered our roof

Bridge:
In our eyes
And in our beds
Such a twisted affection
In our minds
And in our closets
The simple and blemished way things are
